Dust off your backpacks and break back into your Blackboard accounts; it’s syllabus week again. Not only does this mean there will be some periods of boredom, there will be some moments of stress, too. No worries, though. MOVE has curated a playlist to help you dance, sing or jam away those syllabus week blues.

Unbreakable Smile by Tori Kelly Breakout pop princess Tori Kelly just dropped her new album “Unbreakable Smile,” which is full of pop ballads and anthems. The album’s title track is majorly empowering and happily upbeat. Kelly’s school year anthem will having you singing, “La da da da de you’re not breaking me / La de da da da ain’t got time for you / La da da da de you won’t shatter me / La de da da da got an unbreakable smile” right through syllabus week and into the rest of the semester.

Teenage Dream by Glee cast (The Warblers) As if an a cappella version of Katy Perry’s ultimate summer song doesn’t sound amazing already, Darren Criss is the lead on this one sung by the charming all-boy ensemble, the Dalton Academy Warblers from the musical TV show “Glee.” Rest assured, your stress will melt away when you sink into Criss’s addictive vocals and the Warblers stunning harmonies.

Search Party by Sam Bruno A cinematically fun song about escaping to some of the world’s most beautiful and exotic destinations is the best way to kick the back-to-school blues without actually running away. The electronic beat makes it a must-listen for any de-stress jam session. Bonus: it’s from the soundtrack to your new favorite John Green movie “Paper Towns.”

Run This Town by Jay-Z ft. Rihanna & Kanye West “Victory’s within the mile / Almost there don’t give up now / Only thing that’s on my mind / Is who’s gonna run this town tonight.” If those lyrics alone don’t get you pumped up, then I’m not sure what will. Jay-Z’s empowering anthem is electrifyingly motivating, perfect for that first-week slump.

She’s Kinda Hot by 5 Seconds of Summer Not actually a song about a hot girl, the pop-punk band’s first single from their upcoming album, “Sounds Good Feels Good,” is a turn-the-music-up, roll-the-windows-down kind of song about being different from what society expects you to be and actually being OK with that. With a hook like, “We are the kings and the queens of the new broken scene / Yeah we’re alright though,” you’ll be jamming out so hard that by the time you’re done, syllabus week will be over.

Bonus Track: The Best is Yet to Come by Frank Sinatra Sometimes the best way to counteract the stress and anxiety of starting a new school year is by letting Frank Sinatra tell you that everything is going to be OK. The upbeat music and reassuring lyrics are what have made this song a classic, and are what will have you humming along while skimming over all those shiny new syllabi. Just remember, the best is truly yet to come.
