Making the 'orchestra' of the female orgasm work

Published Nov. 6, 2009

Everyone has an "O" face. Maybe you scrunch up your nose, maybe you let your eyes roll back in your head or maybe you let your whole face relax, your mouth hanging slack and open. Everyone has that certain urge, a particular itch that just needs to be scratched and everyone's way of scratching that itch is different.

Biologically speaking, men can orgasm with less difficulty than women. They can come with ease, not taking into account men with dysfunctions. A man can jerk off with just his hand and some Vaseline, but if a lady wants some self-love, the task at hand, so to speak, is far more daunting.

You see, a woman's reproductive organs are to the male's reproductive organs what an orchestra is to a guitar player. For a woman, there are many intricate parts that must work together in harmony in order to achieve the final crescendo; it's not simple thrusting.

For all the advances in science, the smart people in lab coats still don't seem to know much about our lady parts. But we don't need them anyway. Hidden away inside the vagina, the G-spot lies in wait. It's a bit of a mystery as to what it actually is, but it's generally believed to be a bundle of spongy nerves located inside the vagina against the pelvic wall. If you want to go exploring, you can find it by placing one or two fingers inside yourself and making a "come hither" gesture, curving your fingers towards the front wall.

When stimulated with a phallus, a dildo, fingers or whatever you like to get it on with, the G-spot swells with blood and becomes engorged, much like the penis. Women can orgasm if this spot is stimulated. Although still disputed by the medical community, some women can actually ejaculate when this spot is stimulated enough. Scientists and doctors question this function of the female body, but seeing as how a large number of women have experienced it, it's safe to say yes indeed, a gal can ejaculate.

Clitoral stimulation can lead to ejaculation as well, though that's not to say a woman's orgasm has to result in ejaculation. The clitoris is a bundle of about 8,000 nerves forming a button-like organ above the vaginal opening. The clit is pure in purpose. Its only biological purpose is to provide pleasure. It has no other function biologists can determine. It's like a sexy appendix.

There is no "right" way to come. Some women can come from nipple stimulation alone; some need a vibrator. It's all a very personal experience that can only be realized through exploration. I suggest taking the time to relax, lock the door, dim the lights and explore your own body and to what it responds.

Maybe you like paying attention to your clit, but then again maybe it's your vagina that needs the love. Lock the door and don't come out until you find out what makes you tick. Every girl needs to know what a lover can do for her in bed and what she can do for herself. Tell your partner what you've discovered about your body and teach him or her how to make you come.
