    A major in the Israel Defense Forces, Idan is currently studying Middle Eastern Studies and International Relations at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Both Idan and Sagie discussed their pride in the Spirit of the Israel Defense Forces, a small book containing the moral code and expectations of the armed services. Idan described it as his “weakness in the army” but his “strength in society.” (Feb. 15, 2016)

    Hosted by the MU's Students Supporting Israel, Monday night’s "Israeli Soldiers’ Tour” event with Sagie and Idan offered attendees the chance to gain a better understanding of the Israeli conflict. Both men discussed personal motivations for continuing service with the Israel Defense Forces, in addition to offering personal stories and opinions regarding the state of the Israel both past and present.  (Feb. 15, 2016)

    Sagie, a reservist with the Israel Defense Forces and a law and business student, spoke as one of two guest speakers on Monday, Feb. 15, 2016, MU’s Students Supporting Israel event. Sagie was motivated to continue serving his country in the Israel Defense Forces after losing a childhood friend in a local suicide bombing. Later when discussing the his moral expectations and hopes for Israel during combat, Sagie said, “We need to protect the kids on our side and the kids on the Palestinian side.” He emphasized the meaning of the presentation as a manner of drawing more awareness to Israeli conflicts. “Education is the key for future peace” Sagie said.
