Broadway Diner adjusts menu to accommodate diners hungry for barbecue

Broadway Diner’s usual scene of stumbling college students at 2 a.m. has been overtaken by smells of hickory barbecue and family-style picnic tables.

Broadway Diner is challenging barbecue veterans of the Roots 'N Blues 'N BBQ Festival to eat at a place usually known for "The Stretch" and breakfast foods. The newest addition to their menu, a special for the festival, features pulled pork or hickory-smoked chicken with hearty sides including baked beans, corn on the cob, potato salad and homemade cornbread for less than $7.

Broadway Diner if definitely a bang for your buck for patrons ready for some serious feasting. And when it gets chilly, diners can stop by for a spiced apple cider or hot coffee.

Located directly across from Flat Branch Park, festival-goers get the full bluesy feel of live jams and fresh autumn air — for free. Stop by anytime, literally, as the eatery is open 24-hours a day through the end of the festival Sunday afternoon.
