Jarvis Chevis of 367 Catherine Drive was arrested early Friday morning on suspicion of second-degree property damage, armed criminal action, unlawful use of a weapon, second-degree assault and second-degree trafficking.

CPD Sgt. Tim Moriarity said Chevis met with the 24-year-old victim on Thursday to look into buying a speaker system.

The victim and Chevis argued and agreed to meet somewhere to fight, CPD spokeswoman Jessie Haden said. Around 6:30 p.m. Chevis was believed to have fired a gun toward the victim's car. The victim called the police and officers confirmed the vehicle had been shot.

According to the post, the police found Chevis at a trailer park on the 2700 block of Nifong Blvd. in a vehicle with several other people. Moriarity said police searched the vehicle and found narcotics.

Chevis was held at the Boone County Jail Friday morning with a $10,150 bond.
