Mid-Missouri residents receive fraudulent texts
Several Mid-Missouri residents received fraudulent text messages claiming to be from Central Bank, stated a post by the Columbia Daily-Tribune.
See the post here.
The text messages asked recipients to call an 800 or 866 number to gather personal information, such as credit card and debit card information.
Central Bank Senior Vice President Dan Westhues said the bank's customer information was not compromised and not all recipients were customers of Central Bank. The bank advised those who received the text message to call their financial institution as soon as possible.
