Sheriff's department to conduct sobriety checkpoint
The Boone County Sheriff's Department plans to hold a sobriety checkpoint between Sept. 17 and Sept. 20, stated a news release.
The checkpoint will begin in the evening hours of a determined day and end in the early morning and was planned in order to detect and apprehend intoxicated and impaired drivers in Boone County.
The news release also stated that law-abiding motorists should expect a minimal delay in traffic if they encounter the checkpoint.
The sobriety checkpoint is funded by a grant from the Missouri Department of Transportation Division of Highway Safety.
