CPD to host Crisis Intervention Team presentations
The Columbia Police Department's Crisis Intervention team is joining with other community members to host informational sessions about mental illness, a CPD news release stated.
According to the news release, the Mid-Missouri Crisis Intervention Team is a collaboration of professionals committed to assisting people with mental illnesses and brain disorders. Local law enforcement has been trained to interact with people with mental illnesses.
The presentations will be held at Boone Electric's Community Room at 1413 Rangline St., the news release stated. The first presentation will be on Nov. 3 regarding depression.
